About us

Our journey into wedding photography has not taken the traditional route. We both worked in local schools for almost twenty years before fully committing to our true passion in life, photography. A huge change for the whole family, but there are occasions in life when you have to pursue the things that make you truly happy. Our background of teaching and working closely with young people has certainly taught us important lessons in life that we have been able transfer into our photography business. Patience, meticulous planning, connecting with people and the ability to really listen are key qualities that we both pride ourselves on.

Twenty five years ago our eyes met across a dance floor in Sheffield and we’ve been in love ever since. We have now been married for nineteen years and are blessed with two amazing children, Evienne and Raia. It has always been a dream for us to work together and it’s been an amazing experience turning that dream into a reality. We honestly feel that bringing such happiness to couples through our wedding photography is the best job in the world and we never take this privilege for granted. It is essential for you to feel a connection with your photographer, you should feel relaxed and at ease in their company. Our meetings with you before the big day allows us to develop that relationship so that you feel comfortable and relaxed around us, like two more guests at the wedding who just happen to be documenting your beautiful day.

Our passion and enthusiasm for what we do will be evident from the first time you meet us. We love to share new ideas and generate concepts that capture the intimacy of your day. Often of course, the elements that bring the most pleasure are natural and completely out of our control, so don’t be surprised to see us celebrating a beautiful sunset or low defused sunlight. This is the equivalent of winning the lottery.

Jane On Lee

I don’t know where I would be without Lee, he’s the most loving and thoughtful person I have ever known. No one works as hard as he does, he shows passion and commitment to everything he ever does and never gives less than 100%. Although we have many similarities, we truly are opposites, which means we compliment one another perfectly – he’s the yin to my yang.

Lee On Jane

Jane is my hero. She is the kindest, most considerate, strong and focussed person I have ever met. She has a wicked sense of humour and is constantly surprising me even though we have been together for over 20 years. Jane  truly is my soul mate, I am an extremely fortunate man and I thank my lucky stars every day. To be working together and building our business together is a dream come true.

Hobbies & Interests

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wedding Photography keeps us pretty busy, however it is important to make time for other interests, so these are some of the things we like to do when we are not taking photographs.

Music

I fell in love with Jane’s voice almost immediately, (she sings like an angel) and ever since, music has played a huge part in our lives. In fact it was on one of our first dates that we made our first joint purchase. It was a CD of the amazing Sheffield swing band, ‘The Dizzy Club’ (once you’ve made the commitment of jointly owning a CD you have to stay together). Our musical tastes vary from The Beatles, Dylan and Elvis, The Stones, Clapton and Weller to modern favourites Mayer, Nutini,  Buble and Savoretti, not forgetting our student days of The Wonder Stuff, Supergrass, Lemonheads and Nirvana. To be honest there isn’t much that we don’t like, we appreciate musical talent and try to watch live bands as often as we can.

Outdoors

Having an energetic dog, (a springer spaniel) and two young children means that we use the outdoors as our own personal playground with the ultimate aim of wearing them out. As a family we love walking in the woods, bike rides and countryside strolls. This has certainly influenced our photography. When we are not working, we love to explore with our cameras capturing pictures of wildlife, (we have recently joined the RSPB), fantastic views across the Peak District, early morning sunrises and beautiful sunsets. Yorkshire has these in abundance and right on our doorstep, it’s easy to take this for granted and forget what a truly beautiful county we live in. Get out there and explore!

Travel

We have been lucky enough to travel to several distant shores and to areas steeped in tradition and culture, Cuba and Sri Lanka being the two that immediately spring to mind. However, that said, I honestly believe that the British Coastline really takes some beating. In recent years we have holidayed in Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Devon and Dorset, each one has areas of natural beauty that have left us speechless.

Food & Drink

We love food, it’s as simple as that and I’m constantly adding and removing meals from my personal ‘Top 10’. Pretty consistently towards the top of my chart is Steak and Ale Pie made with shortcrust pastry and lots of gravy, this is difficult to beat. Jane on the other hand sites sea bass as her favourite, which we ate in abundance when we honeymooned in the Maldives. Sometimes all you need is a hearty meal in front of a log fire, while at other times freshly caught mussels in white wine sauce and crusty bread al fresco style is the order of the day. Although to be honest, our go to food as a family is always Italian, whether as a lovingly home cooked meal (as a child Jane used to watch her Sicilian Uncle cook and loves to recreate and experiment). As for favourite drinks, I am a Real Ale fan and like to sample the wares from local breweries as often as possible, where as Jane has recently discovered a preference for local Gins. One thing we both agree on is freshly ground coffee, a must at the start of every day.
